Registration of hotel guests in the FMS

According to the current legislation of the Russian Federation, every foreigner who wants to visit Moscow and get accommodation in a hotel must register with the FMS authorities. The hotel must register a foreign citizen for migration within 24 hours. In the case when a foreigner is already registered, the hotel staff transmits this information to the appropriate service. As a rule, the guest registration program is carried out by the hotel staff. Having received the necessary information and documentation from the guest, the hotel independently registers the citizen. To do this, you will need:

• Personal passport (internal, foreign)
• Visa
• Migration card

The hotel staff has the right to personally hand over the documents to the offices or send a package of documents by courier. Sometimes it is possible to transfer information to the FMS in electronic form.
